Bloomberg's European headquarters is respectful of its location in the heart of the City of London, close to the Bank of England and St. Paul's Cathedral. In its form, massing and materials, the new building is uniquely of their place and time – a natural extension of the city.

As part of this holistic project Foster + Partners Industrial Design team designed a series of furniture elements, each designed with the notion of teamwork and collaboration. The desking system, developed closely with Bloomberg teams, is designed to support a new generation of open plan working. The desk is configured in organic clusters that can create circular cells, each with a central meeting table. Every desk is fitted with a fully adjustable, motorised, sit-stand mechanism allowing users to select their preferred desktop position and encourage physical mobility in the workplace.

In addition to the desk the system has a modular selection of complementary components for storage, print, and recycling. All elements share the same footprint allowing for furniture layouts that can adapt to Bloomberg's changing requirements.
