The lightweight solid-wood frame is fitted with tensioned leather– a juxtaposition of natural materials that gives the chair textural and visual depth. Pulled and tensioned around the frame, fabric or leather– either smooth or embossed– provide a strong, supportive and elegant seat. The frame comprises two components: an L-shaped seating element and the arms and legs, which are joined together by four metal spacers. Accessible fixings allow the chair to be easily and intuitively disassembled and rebuilt. This facilitates replacement of the leather seat, extending the lifespan of the chair, and enables the constituent materials to be easily separated for recycling at end of life, contributing to a circular economy of repair and reuse.
Cordoba's timeless design expression makes it adaptable to a multitude of settings, both domestic and commercial, and its light weight enables it to be moved around the space as the need arises. The frame is available in light and dark oak and stained ash, and a variety of colours of leather. Further enhancing the design's versatility, an outdoor version in teak is also available, with a selection of weatherproof polypropylene fabrics in nature-inspired colours.
