Karimoku Furniture's bespoke collection of furniture, the NF Collection, was designed with Norman Foster. The NF collection is characterised by its distinctive timber skeletal frame and simple fabric infills. The design is suited for a variety of settings, from offices to homes, and includes a sofa, lounge chair, high stools, dining chairs and table, and a coffee table.
From the outset, the design process was driven by extensive prototyping and fine-tuning using ergonomic rigs. The resulting geometry explores the distinctive materiality of timber. Blended spliced joints quietly celebrate the connections between the different elements of the chair, reflecting the intricate relationship between craft and structure. The range is available in sustainably sourced oak and walnut with fabric infills of Kvadrat fabric, available in a range of colours.
